Chirped MirrorsNewport Corp. has announced a matched pair of 1-in.-diameter ultrafast FemtoOptics chirped mirrors, designed for convenient dispersion compensation of 10 fs and shorter laser pulses.
The high reflectivity of the mirrors supports high throughput, while the proprietary coating design accurately controls higher order dispersion. The matched pair of mirrors has been designed to reflect over 95 percent from 700 to 890 nm. Transmitting an ultrashort pulse laser beam through a number of optical components will cause the pulse to spread and become chirped.
The mirrors provide negative group velocity dispersion to the incoming laser beam with every bounce off the surface. The mirrors can be mounted into clear quadrant mounts to create the closest separation between two mirrors to allow for a maximum number of bounces.
